Scholarship Essay
I believe that online textbooks are better than traditional textbooks. We are in a time period now where everything is online and people are using online textbooks more than paper ones. When I go to college I will pick online textbooks instead of traditional ones because of the environmentally friendly aspect of online books and because they are cheaper. College is already very expensive, so why not choose the cheaper option? If everyone switched to online textbooks, the environment would benefit along with the amount of money you have in your pocket. Also, if your textbook is online, you can access it from anywhere including your smart phone, iPad, computer, laptop etc. Online textbooks are very convenient and would save people from having to remember to bring a bulky textbook to class every day.
Last week I had an assignment from my math teacher of 20 problems in out math textbook. When I got home from school I realized that I didn’t bring home the book. This made me very frustrated and annoyed because I couldn’t get my homework done. If the book would have been online I wouldn’t have had that problem and would not have had to accept a 0 on the assignment the next day.
Every day, when I am walking the halls of my high school, I see people with their lap tops and iPads and that just makes me think of how technologically advanced our country has gotten. Hardly anyone carries books around anymore because online resources are so much easier. Having all textbooks online would make students’ lives simpler and more convenient.
